Our client, based in Brisbane's Northern suburbs is currently seeking a Principal Database Administrator. This is a 6 month contract and start date is asap.
 
This role provides expert level database administration services in support of the delivery of IT systems and  infrastructure within the Technical Operations function and reports to the Manager, Technical Operations.
 
Your experience will be shown in the following ways:

• Demonstrated expertise and technical skills in:
  • Database support/administration of all current versions of Microsoft SQL Server, i.e.  2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016.
  • Implementation and performance tuning of Relational Database Management System (RDBMS).
  • Microsoft Windows fail-over clustering and SQL DB Availability Groups.
  • SQL DB mirroring, Log Shipping, Availability Groups and Containers for resilience and DR.
  • Migration of databases from previous SQL versions to latest releases.
• High level experience in the effective use of the ITIL processes Change Management, Capacity Planning, Incident and Problem Management.
• Demonstrated skills in the analysis of IT system issues and the effective formulation, design and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements.
• Proven ability to analyse, design and implement database infrastructure and services into the operational environment for the delivery of Information Communication Technology (ICT) services.
• High-level communication skills to enable effective interaction in individual and group situations.
• Proven ability to work as part of a collaborative, technical team environment, interacting with other team members in a respectful and professional manner.
• On-call may be a requirement for this position.

Ideally whilst not mandatory a working knowledge of or technical accreditation in Microsoft Service, VMWare vSphere, technologies and Microsoft SQL Server is highly regarded.  
 
A relevant Qualification in ITIL Service Management is also desirable.
