Growing Gold Coast based web design company looking for an amazing individual to manage our WordPress support division.

This is a unique opportunity to lead and grow the support team of our business.

Reporting to the business owner, you are charged with the responsibility of:

  • The ongoing upkeep and maintenance of our clients websites once a web design project has been delivered

  • Building systems & procedures for the ongoing management of support requests

  • Liaising with team to oversee the fulfillment of these support request

  • Ensuring our clients and team members are stoked

  • Reporting to clients & management

Your mission if you choose to accept it is a vital one.  The launch of a new website is just the start of the journey. You and the support team are where the rubber hits the road. Our ongoing support arrangement allows them to evolve, improve and tweak their web presence.

Here’s what your average day will look like:

  • 08:00 > You rock into our brand spanking new Burleigh Heads factory workspace armed with a strong coffee, ready to take on the day.

  • 08:30 > You’ve been eagerly greeted (twice) by our resident Golden Retriever - Poodle cross, “Dustin”. Having connected with the rest of the team in a 10 minute huddle you know what the priorities are for the day.

  • 09:00 > A new website is going live. You call the client and introduce yourself as the key contact moving forward. The client is inducted by yourself on our support procedures ensuring that they know exactly how submit new support requests.

  • 10:30 > A new prospect calls the office. Their WordPress website is broken and is desperate need of some love and maintenance. You can talk them through the support packages and how we can solve their frustrations moving forward. They sign up on the spot. Fist pumping ensues!

  • 12:00 > You implement a new system for monitoring the client satisfaction of our 200+ support clients. This ensures clients are always stoked and retention is high.

  • 12:30 > Dang. Is that the time already? Lunch and a game of table tennis with current resident reigning champ.

  • 13:30 > You assist our web development team by giving feedback on some website speed tweaks which will make your life a whole bunch easier to support moving forward.

  • 14:30 > Time to get back into the ‘zone’ and knock out some website analysis reports for prospective clients. You quickly identify a bunch of low hanging fruit for things that can be improved. Using these tools, you are able to trigger sales conversations about future ongoing website support arrangements.

  • 16:00 > Regroup with the support team on the day that was. Another quick 10 minute huddle ensues and everyone knows exactly where they are at for the coming day.

  • 17:00 > Before you log off for the day, a note comes through from the client… “Wow, I love what’ve done! That small tweak you implemented increased conversion significantly”.  Raise your arm straight in the air, bend your elbow and give yourself a big pat on the back.

  • It has been a busy yet fulfilling day. Time to knock off and be thankful knowing that there will be one less underperforming website in the world thanks to your hard work.

This is SUPER-DUPER important. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be:

  • A passionate self starter with at least 2 year experience. You have a demonstrable track record in designing or delivering or overseeing website projects. Being an ex-web designer/developer will be a plus.

  • Familiar with sales. You will measured on new client signups & retention (assisted by the owner of the business). Buck stops with you. We have ambitious growth targets and your role in this will be a pivotal one from a fulfillment perspective.

  • Experience in leading a team. This is a leadership role and you will the head of this division. Ensuring the development team are happy and productive is your responsibility. Happy team = happy clients.

  • High experienced with WordPress. You know this back to front. You dream about it.  You quite possibly have the WordPress logo tattooed in a private place somewhere on your body.

  • Understanding of PHP / MySQL / HTML / CSS / JS a real advantage

  • Understanding of hosting environments & speed optimisation

  • Understanding of onsite SEO and keeping the Google Gods happy

  • Understanding of responsiveness and focused on the mobile experience.

  • Ability to have a conversation with client and genuinely want to help them

  • Experienced with site conversation, Google Analytics and implementation of social proof

  • A practitioner and promoter in the lean way of working – utilising your customer centric design and UI experience.

  • Respond to feedback from senior staff & clients but also confident to take ownership of and lead of this business division.

  • A strong communicator, with the ability to engage with both our internal team and our clients.

  • Someone who not just fits our company culture, but can add to it.

  • A happy, healthy and balanced individual that has their stuff sorted.
