A large Queensland Government Department is seeking a Program Director. This role will ensure the successful implementation of a strategic Information Management and ICT change program of work. The Program Director will be responsible in the delivery of the agreed work program within approved budget and ensure positive relationships are established with project team members.
 
Role and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the successful delivery of the approved solutions across multiple facilities.
  • Provide advice and guidance on organisational and technical requirements to optimise success within each facility.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders by undertaking high level negotiations, providing expert advice and resolving complex risks and issues within the rollout program across nominated facilities.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic direction into the development of nominated facility project documentation ensuring outcomes and project deliverables align with those outlined within the business case requirements, quality standards and comply with policies, strategies and architecture.
  • Ensure outcomes are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and formal program and project management approaches and methodologies to enable the achievement of consistent and quality program and project outcomes.
  • Manage and report on program and project level dependencies ensuring all impacts are identified to minimise impact on program timelines.
  • Develop timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations and information papers of an appropriately detailed nature as required to support governance requirements.
 
Skills and Experience
  • High level leadership, conceptualisation and design of programs comprising multiple large scale, complex and high risk projects.
  • High level program/project management skills, with the ability to achieve successful program outcomes.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and mentor multiple multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a major program budget.
  • High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level knowledge and application of project management methodologies.
