What will you be doing a year from now?
You don’t always have a clear idea of what you’ll be doing 12 months on from joining a company.

That’s where this role is different.

We can scope out the deliverables, challenges, progression and direction of this role.

One of our favourite clients is enjoying sustained growth following a recent acquisition which has seen their client base and revenue significantly increase.

They use Excel / VBA & SQL to create reports for various business units, producing detailed and insightful information on their products, clients and revenue.

They need you to collate these reports, standardise the coding where possible, create a standard look and feel and distribution methods.

Once the portfolio of reports is in order then automation comes into play for efficiency gains.

Ownership
This is an opportunity to take your Excel, VBA and SQL skills and create order, best practice and efficiencies by ‘owning’ the portfolio.

One you own the portfolio; the applications and reports are running smoothly, and standards have been created then you can look at how these reports can be migrated to more feature rich platforms like OBIEE and Thoughtspot.

As you’d imagine you need to be organised. You need to have a vision but be accountable and track your progress.

You need to be able to see the bigger picture while being focused on the outcome.

Essentially this is a 12m project and you are the project owner. This is good for your career!

I’m banging on about the role because I believe it’s a great opportunity, but I haven’t mentioned the company.
