We are working with the local office of an international organisation that provides a leading cloud-based large-scale, high volume and high availability platform for some of the worlds leading organisations and their employees and they are looking for an experienced and dynamic AWS Devops Support Engineer to join their team.
The role is broad and critical to the organisation and involves managing and coordinating software deployments across the production sites, supporting and troubleshooting the production and corporate environments as well other associated projects. The technology stack includes Windows IIS, SQLServer and IAM all on AWS cloud including EC2, RDS, S3, Cloudfront and ElastiCache amongst others, using infrastructure as code using Powershell scripting.
Specific tasks include:
- End to end AWS Wintel/IIS Environmental support and management
- AWS EC2 instance creation, configuration, deployment and automation
- Use of AWS tools including but not limited to EC2, EBS, S3, Cloudfront and ElastiCache for environment management deployment, automation and support
- Working with the development teams to understand deployment processes, requirements, restrictions and security issues and platform performance and load issues and advise and approve deployments as necessary
- Support, analyse and troubleshoot platform deployment issues
- Supporting and troubleshooting the Corporate environment including servers, networks, security
- Provide proactive technical support, communications and status updates to the business, IT staff and management
- Identify opportunities for improvement and automation in conjunction with other IT staff and managers to improve the environment
- Reviewing PCI compliance requirements and audit findings, understanding issues, identifying, implementing and deploying changes to the server environment
To qualify for this role you will be able to demonstrate proven experience supporting critical Windows systems in Amazon Web Services (AWS) including:
- Experience creating, configuring and deploying IIS Web servers on AWS native services using code including experience with EC2, EBS, S3, Cloudfront and ElastiCache
- Experience creating, configuring, deploying AWS EC2 instances
- Demonstrated understanding of application deployment and approval processes
- Strong Powershell scripting and Devops experience including configuring web servers, data application layer etc.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience with PCI compliance would be highly regarded
- Experience and/or knowledge of IAM, SQLServer and tools such as Jira, Confluence and Bamboo would be highly regarded
- Experience virtualising Windows servers to AWS would be highly regarded
