My industry leading client are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their growing team.
 
The ideal candidate will be highly experienced with using Scala, it should be their bread and butter.
 
Skills/Experience:

• Experience of working in a complex, agile environment.
• Extensive experience with development using either Scala or Java.
• Extensive experience with Functional and/or Object Oriented development practices.
• Extensive experience with using scripting to automate various processes e.g. Python, Bash etc.
• Extensive experience with software version control systems, preferably git.
• Extensive experience with code performance profiling and optimisation.
• Ideally experience with the Apache Spark framework.
• Ideally experience working across a Big Data platform (Cloudera/Hortonworks) with tools such as Flume, Kafka, Hive, HBase etc.
• A thorough understanding of unit and integration testing and the ability to identify weaknesses in test suites and code coverage.
• Proficient in using Linux systems and performing Linux troubleshooting.
• Practical experience working with a variety of data-store technologies a bonus e.g. HBase, Ignite, Redis etc.
