About the role
Are you an experienced Desktop Engineer looking to make the next step in your career? This is a great opportunity to join our Sydney team – working on a client site in the CBD. This role will include work ranging from installation of new systems including networking, to diagnosis of a wide range of customer problems, both software and hardware.
 
Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Manage Incident and Request calls within defined processes, time frames and standards
  • Provide resolution over the phone through investigation and diagnosis, using remote system management tools
  • Install and test basic operating system software
  • Detect and eliminate PC viruses using industry standard software tools
  • Correct basic software errors using industry standard tools
  • Monitor recurring faults or errors, analyse trends and develop appropriate response
  • Handle or assist in the installation, update or patch of software products
  • Operate Windows and COTS (Commercial off the shelf) applications
  • Install and configure in-house applications
 
About you
To be successful in this role we are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:
  • Previous experience (minimum 24 months) working in a Desktop support environment
  • Demonstrated skills with remote management tools and techniques
  • Experience working in a MS Windows environment
  • A sound knowledge of commercial call logging tools such as ServiceNow, CA Service Desk or Remedy etc
  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial in bound telephony systems typically used in Call Centres, Help/Service Desks such as CISCO or ALCATEL (Supervisor Experience Preferred)
  • Experience with Windows 10 and Office365 preferred
  • Experience working in an ITIL framework and ITIL certifications
