About The Role

The Project Manager’s main responsibility is to manage our end-to-end system development, implementation and internal R&D projects to ensure that they are completed efficiently on time, within budget and with excellent quality.

 

Responsibilities

  • Progressively learn the Private Health Insurance (PHI) domain knowledge and acquire solid understanding of Civica Health Insurance Solutions in order to effectively manage projects
  • Manage internal and external project meetings; distribute accurate meeting minutes
  • Obtain project objectives from internal and external stakeholders and articulate the objectives to relevant team members
  • Plan, Initiate, execute and finalise IT projects based on the methodologies used by Civica Health Solutions as well as industry best practices (e.g. Prince 2).
  • Manage and control the project risk and quality.
  • Proactively track project progress, identify dependencies and remove roadblocks.
  • Apply an analytical approach to pre-empt and deal with issues with constructive solutions
  • Motivate the project team to overcome obstacles and conquer the challenges under pressure
  • Understand the common steps in IT projects, including system analysis, requirement gathering, system design, system development, system testing, deployment, as well as Agile/Waterfall development approaches.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Regular project reports, including SLA tracking.
  • Release deployment scheduling and coordination.

 

About You

The Project Manager needs to an energised, self-motivated and fun person, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Furthermore, the successful applicant will have good time management skills, experience working with deadlines and in a fast pace environment.

 

Other skills needed for this position includes:

  • More than 6 years’ previous experience in software development, with at least 3 years’ in systems specification and design, preferably in an IT solution vendor’s environment.
  • Recent successful experience as a Project Manager in large software project implementation in enterprise environment
  • A computer science or related discipline.
  • Advanced skills in one or more of the major programming languages, and in the evaluation of hardware and software options.
  • Good understanding of the current IT systems environment and development paths.
  • Project planning and specification skills, together with problem solving and analysis abilities. The latter is usually based on specific industry knowledge (Banking, Insurance, etc.) and considerable User liaison.
  • Strong technical and business documentation skills.
  • Preferably, knowledge of the Private Health Insurance (PHI) industry.
