Our Client, well known Global brand is seeking to appoint a Principal EPM Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis.

Our Client is looking for a Principal End Point Management (EPM) Engineer to manage and monitor the End point Environment inclusive of SOE & DaaS platforms.

The Principal EPM Engineer is accountable for various project technical implementations and activities related to the Desktop Managed Service. The successful candidate in this role will provide leadership and guidance to other technical engineers in respect to the delivery of all desktop solutions and will monitor and manage End Point & DaaS projects, 3rd level support and desktop related problem management cases.

  • DaaS and SOE Design Develop, document and maintain the desktop SOE design principles for all of the businesses desktop customers.
  • Develop and document desktop SOE design and implementation templates for generic customers for use against new opportunities.
  • SOE Design includes:
    • The installation model.
    • Imaging model.
    • Managed application deployment model.
    • Inventory and reporting model.
    • Maintenance model.
    • Research new technologies for incorporation into future virtual desktop SOE designs.
  • Packaging of desktop applications for remote deployment.
  • Design all SOE management standards to cohere with the businesses system management processes and tools, system monitoring processes and system access processes.
  • Develop training material and perform training of internal Desktop Support engineers.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of relevant standards, procedures and guidelines. Identify and raise service improvement initiatives to management for discussion.
  • Projects assume the role of technical leader or design engineer in SOE deployment/refresh projects.
  • Be involved with the implementation of any other desktop associated projects.
  • Maintain and contribute to documentation tasks.
  • After hours work may be required.
  • Weekend work may sometimes be required.
  • Customer Presentations Interstate travel may be required.
  • Complete time recording processes for work performed as required.
  • Backfill Desktop Support delivery teams in times of absence and excess workload.
  • Onsite or remote work may be required.
  • This position reports to the Senior SOE Architect, although participation may also occur in project groups, and have accountability to the relevant project manager or technical lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development, documentation and maintenance the desktop End Point DaaS and End Point environments
  • Maintain design principles for the businesses desktop customers.
  • Review and improve the design of End Point management standards to cohere with the businesses system management processes and tools, system monitoring processes and system access processes.
  • Engage in SOW creation - provide guidance to PMs (technical scheduling)
  • Provide SOW/ISPR effort approvals
  • Collaborate with leadership for deployments (if required)
  • Review Solution Architecture of project to ensure alignment with delivery standards
  • Update templated High-Level and Low-Level Designs to align to account requirements
  • Provide Endpoint& DaaS technical input to project workshops (related to the presented endpoint /look and feel - limited to VDI)
  • Accountable for technical implementation for Project Endpoint deliverables
  • Contribute in POCs (solution testing or other as agreed)
  • Adapt template solution to Account requirements
  • Provide all necessary on-going evolution guidance (e.g. next version of SCCM management, XenDesktop, Tools) and governance documentation of how SOE, Trad desktops, Virtualisation limited to VDI, patched, controlled etc.
  • Work with the Digital Workplace Services team to align to Global standards providing input for Classic & Virtualized (VDI) Workplace solution constructions
  • Work with the Principal Endpoint Architect and Account Solution Architects to understand roadmap, drive improvements and what can be used across other accounts
  • Provide reviews on major changes for assigned customers in collaboration with the Principal Endpoint Lead & Account Solution Architects
  • Governance of Endpoint end support at all customers
  • Provide ideas of year on year efficiencies
  • Lead Endpoint and Legacy SOE Engineers on technical direction
  • Complex Incident and Request fulfilment

Selection Criteria:

  • Australian citizen or Permanent residency essential
  • 3+ years’ experience in DaaS and SOE design, development and implementation covering technologies such as MDT, Win 7, Win XP, Apple MAC etc.
  • 1+ years’ experience in use, development or implementations of virtual desktop technologies such as Citrix XenDesktop, VMWare View etc.
  • Desktop management and deployment using CA Unicenter and MS SCCM
  • 1+ year(s) experience in Application Virtualisation such as App- V, Thin-App or XenApp
  • 1+ year(s) experience in Application Packaging (Wise Package Studio or Install Shield)
  • Strong scripting capabilities in any language for Windows platforms.
  • Successful applicants should have come from a Desktop background
