About The Role

The Technical Support Engineer will play a key role in the software system deployment, implementation and technical support process in Civica Health Solutions.  This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to step up and take ownership of the technical operations and outcomes.  Furthermore, this person will work with leading players in the Private Health Insurance industry and carve out an exciting career in excellent technical support.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop necessary documentation in the system support area as well as system monitoring tools.
  • Develop an efficient process for ongoing system support, update and maintenance.
  • Perform issue triaging and root cause analysis by applying linear and logical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Provide ongoing managed services, dev-ops and support services for various Civica applications based on the service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Share the 24X7 tier-2 application support and product deployment duties with other team members
  • Follow Civica’s system implementation & installation process and framework.
  • Acquire Health Solution domain & system knowledge progressively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate effectively and closely with developers at Civica along with project managers and management teams to support and implement Civica end-to-end solutions. You will be working to strict timelines and deadlines that are customer facing.
  • Adopt and develop tools, programs and scripts when required.
  • Create a centre of excellence through processes and tools within the Civica technical infrastructure and managed operation areas.
  • Ensure that deployment, change control and escalation procedures are followed.
  • Explore and recommend modern tools and techniques for improving the efficiency and accuracy of our solution delivery.


About You

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar hands-on technical position.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technologies and tools.
  • Knowledge in SHELL scripting, PowerShell scripting and other scripting languages.
  • Ability to perform verification testing.
  • Experience with enterprise IT systems and operations.
  • Comfort with frequent and incremental release deployment.
  • Strong grasp of automation tools and a desire to seek to maximise the effectiveness of those tools and to assess new tools.
  • Exposure in Cloud platforms including AWS and Azure.
  • Expertise in Windows Servers and Linux Servers.
  • Knowledge of Network, Firewall, IIS, Apache and Active Directory Configuration.
  • Experience in virtualisation technologies, VMWare and Hyper-V.
  • Experience in security protocols and file transmission & web service data transmission protocols.
  • Documentation and work item management skills based on modern tools, e.g. Confluence, Jira.
  • Monitoring tools such as NewRelic, Nagios etc.
  • Experience in system monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of server clustering, DR configuration and network load balancing.
  • Superior customer service skills and team collaboration spirit.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Practical - willing to ‘get sleeves rolled up’ to drive the outcome.
