A great opportunity to analyse and document how data is collected, stored, integrated and managed by different information systems in a large and complex organisation. The role will analyse and document using Visio how data is collected, stored, integrated and managed by different information systems to support effective provision of data for secondary use, complemented by conceptual and logical data models of commonly exchanged or reported enterprise data.

PURPOSE

The role will analyse and document how data is collected, stored, integrated and managed by different information systems to support effective provision of data for secondary use, complemented by conceptual and logical data models of commonly exchanged or reported enterprise data.

PRIMARY DUTIES

• Contribute to the creation of an enterprise metadata repository and content.
• Work in partnership with the business to understand business needs, gather data requirements and develop an enterprise data model while documenting and organising this.
• Facilitate open communication and discussion between stakeholders, using feedback to assess and promote understanding of University data.
• Develop and maintain strong effective working relationships with key management personnel and internal client base including Technical Architects, BA’s and directly with the business.
• Investigate business data requirements, and apply data analysis, data modelling and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain data structures and their associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions) based upon a detailed understanding of the business information requirements.
• Align information assets attributes, metadata and proposed utilisation with standards and reference architectures where available.
• Create conceptual and logical information models based on physical models in existing systems to deliver a range of University information domain models.
• Apply information classification and data security classification to the information assets.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• Healthcare experience
• Working experience with Microsoft Visio
