The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an up and coming Business Development Manager to work closely with our CEO and General Managers to identify prospective customers and build relationships in order to generate new business opportunities.

We are looking for someone who can help our business grow, particularly within the Energy, Telco or Utilities sectors. You do not have to be a seasoned salesperson; however, it is imperative that you are articulate and can confidently influence and negotiate whilst leveraging your network and market intelligence. The successful candidate will be energetic, results driven and able to work in an agile high change environment.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Under the direction and guidance of the CEO:

  • Contribute to the implementation of business development strategies that is aligned to Skybridge’s strategic objectives;
  • Conduct market research and obtain market intelligence on customer plans and pain points as well as competitor plans and new market initiatives;
  • Prospect and identify potential clients, and the decision makers within client organisations and build and maintain key relationships that will assist in driving Skybridge’s growth and financial position; 
  • Understand customer requirements and present an image that mirrors that of the client;
  • Support the CEO to initiate and manage client relationships to negotiate and close commercial agreements;
  • Assist the General Managers (Divisions) with transitioning and operationalising the contract to maximise their business potential where required;

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualified in either Marketing/Business/Commerce or related field required;
  • Master’s degree viewed favourably;
  • Excellent analytical skills with an understanding of complex data;
  • Experience in the design and implementation of Business Development strategies; and
  • Exceptional attention to detail, self-motivation and initiative.
