Your new position

The Senior Business Analyst role mentors and coaches other Business Analysts and supports the Principal Business Analyst in the provision of business analysis services to the organisation. This role operates at a senior level within the ICT Project Management Office and consistently delivers high quality analysis and advice. The role leverages strong relationships to elicit, critically challenge, determine and document requirements which can be used to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

This is an exciting time at Seqwater, as we embed our new Vision and Values. Reporting to the Principal Business Analyst, we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who can:

• Undertake business analysis planning activities such as outlining business analysis approach (e.g. tools/techniques to be used), stakeholder analysis and work breakdown structure
• Elicit, analyse and critically challenge the business need or business problem using techniques such as Investment Logic Mapping, SWOT and Root Cause Analysis
• Develop requirements to communicate the business need, translating them into a language which can be understood by business stakeholders and solution providers including value streams, process models (BPMN 2.0), context diagrams and wireframes
• Innovatively solve business problems and assist in the prioritisation and delivery of requirements using an agile approach
• Conduct investigations for high level strategy and feasibility studies
• Develop and manage the development of strategic and complex business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving the benefits and associated business risks

About you

To see you succeed in this values-led organisation you will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience working as a Business Analyst within a complex ICT environment with proven experience delivering business analysis capability in an agile environment.

• Business analysis qualifications and certifications (desirable)
• High level knowledge of:
  • Business analysis methods, techniques and tools
  • Agile principles and their application in business analysis
  • Business process modelling and analysis, including process classification frameworks, value streams and governance
  • Change management and project management principles and methodologies
  • IT industry and related areas, including current trends and challenges
• Effective communication skills with the ability to engage widely with a diverse range of stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High level interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and negotiate
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships
• Proven ability to achieve results with minimal supervision whilst managing a heavy workload, under tight deadlines, while maintaining high levels of quality
• Ability to acquire and apply new knowledge, concepts and technology to achieve business value
• Innovative and flexible approach with a critical attention to detail
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence for a motor vehicle

This position has been graded in accordance with Seqwater's EBA as AO7 with a salary of $108,637.97 plus up to 12.75% superannuation
