Role Summary

We’re looking to hire a senior delivery professional to be a key part of our professional services team.

Our project managers are responsible for the management of a one or more projects or programs within the BAE Systems International Government product and services portfolio. You will also provide the strategic framework for conceiving, maintaining, communicating, implementing and delivering BAE Systems projects across our client’s organisations from cyber professional services and systems integration.

It is a requirement of this role that you are an Australian citizen and either hold or will be eligable for Australian Government security clearance.

Role Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of projects, program or portfolios, e.g. greater than 9 months, with significant business, political, or high-profile impact, large teams and high-risk dependencies.
• Monitoring and reporting utilisation of management contingency across all projects and portfolio overhead functions including costs, operational budgets, programme profitability, staffing requirements, project resources, in-flight project change and inter-project dependencies and portfolio risk.
• Act as a primary point of contact for senior clients and sub-contracted 3rd parties, day to day accountability for the service and solution being provided.
• Co-ordinate and grow relationships with key customer stakeholders and actively manages the client and sponsors expectations.
• Take responsibility for making strategic recommendations to the business sponsor for the cancellation, re-prioritise or addition of projects necessary to deliver the required business benefits.
• Commercial and contractual management of all suppliers and 3rd parties against an agreed scope and/or service, including the management of acceptance and the measurement of performance against any agreed SLA’s.
• Provide accurate revenue forecasts at Project board reviews to the Head of Delivery
• Demonstrate excellent influencing skills and fully manages difficult situations with clients, take ownership of customer satisfaction.
• Co-ordination of project closures, lessons learned, knowledge capture and next-step actions across the portfolio of projects, so that plans and business cases can be established for the next iteration of business change.

Essential Requirements

• Professional PM certification (e.g. PMP)
• Have minimum 5-10 years of formal Project Management/Delivery experience ideally within a software/technology based industry
• Clear communications skills and must feel comfortable presenting in front of Customers on a professional level
• Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to a fast pace environment
• Available to travel, although most projects are expected to be based in Melbourne
