Working closely with the project stakeholder, the technical writer will be responsible for documenting all case management procedures, guidelines and manuals, with key topics including intake and engagement, assessment, case planning, intervention, case review, case closure, care teams, information sharing, case noting and report writing and working with stakeholders. The technical writer will also be required to reference and review existing documentation, in some cases merge documentation and work with stakeholders to understand existing practices and document these practices into standardised documentation.

On a day-to-day basis, the Technical Writer will report to the Senior Project Manager - Assessment regarding project matters, with an overall reporting line to the Practice Manager, Business Analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Researches, gathers, verifies and documents operational manuals, procedures, guideline documentation or any other reference documentation as required covering the breadth of case management practices.
  • Translates process designs, policies and business rules, impact assessments, technical and system reference documents into operations reference guides and work instructions for relevant users
  • Format material produced to be in line with the audience specific and simple language that is clear and concise for the target audience to understand
  • Adhere to departmental documentation policies, standards and documentation control systems
  • Report on progress of assigned tasks, identify and communicate risks and issues as they arise and work collaboratively to mitigate or resolve them respectively.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations, focusing on understanding stakeholder issues and influencing their views to resolve complex issues through a process of consultation and negotiation.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the development of operational manuals, procedures, guidelines and operational reference guides to high professional standards
  • Advanced writing, editing, communication and presentation skills including knowledge of technical documentation principles
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in establishing effective and cooperative working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
