Helpdesk Support Agent/PHP Programmer/Developer

About Us
We are a well-established Gold Coast based IT company that specialise in software development. We provide helpdesk support, web hosting, VM hosting and software development to a variety of clients.

Your Role:

This role will be a hybrid of Help-desk and Programming.   We are looking for a person with the ability to think logically to resolve help-desk queries AND has an interest in programming and can work on some of the smaller projects we have.

The helpdesk is contactable during standard business hours, Saturday morning work may be required along with some afterhours maintenance in the future.  The hours for this position are negotiable, depending on the applicant.

Intermediate PHP developer to work on medium to large projects for the Health and Fitness and Travel industry.  The applicant should be familiar with MVC frameworks and must have a sound understanding of object orientated techniques.

In this position you will be supported by a friendly group of people who are passionate about their industry and services.  Be able to fit into a small, relaxed team environment and able to work independently.

Technical Skills/Experience:

• Technical experience with desktop support and Microsoft Operating systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications
• End user support

• Experience with VM server hosting (Server 2008/2012)
• Experience in IT helpdesk or similar technical support role.
• Mac Desktop knowledge
• Formal technical education and qualifications would be highly regarded
• Strong programming fundamentals (regardless of language)
• Passion for coding / Write clean code
• PHP with OO experience (ORM an advantage)
• jQuery
• HTML and CSS
• SQL skills

Non-Technical Skills/Experience:

• Excellent phone manner with a high focus on customer satisfaction
• The ability to take initiative and work independently

• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Attention to detail and time management skills
• A logical thinker with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work under pressure
