Ideal 12 month contract with an immediate start for an experienced Lead Software Engineer, responsible for providing technical solution direction and acting as the technical decision maker to resolve conflicts or remove technical Systems barriers as well as actively participating in design/coding/test activities
The role consists of:
- HR management of engineering members within the Systems Team.
- Establishment and monitoring of software engineering practises within the Systems Team in reference to enterprise standards and guidelines.
- Promote and deliver engineering/dev-ops metrics to enable objective measurement and continuous improvement of engineering practices.
- Ensure high quality environment, change and release services to the delivery teams utilising the application platforms.
- Technical lead for the Systems team - point of technical escalation and management of technical risks and issues.
- Support role in the identification of non-functional changes (in collaboration with the service team solution architects and platform-based system teams).
- Participation in work estimation and planning.
- Perform design, development, and test activities as part of the Systems Team.
About you:
To be successful in securing this exciting post you will be a highly proven individual who has a strong background in software engineering, platform engineering, middleware or database technology, ideally in the enterprise application software domain, maintenance and support across the Finance, Procurement & Supply domain; modern dev-ops engineering practices; agile delivery methodology; and people leadership skills to support a small team of software engineers.
Ideally, you will be both a people leader, responsible for recruiting, organising and inspiring individuals as well as a technical leader, responsible for ensuring that agile software engineering practises are adopted and continuously evolved and that software changes are delivered with a high degree of quality and efficiency.
A successful track record of technology leadership experience building customer facing products/platforms will also be essential in this role. In addition to this you will possess:
- Experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
- Experience in systems delivery within an Agile framework is highly desirable.
- Understanding of some or all following applications: Oracle E-Business Suite, Demantra, Oracle SOA, Hyperion, Tririga (lease management and accounting), Ariba (upstream) - desirable
