Where we play:

WooliesX Hub is based within a 2 minute walk from Central station and walking distance from all the cafes and restaurants that Surry Hills has to offer. The brand new site has been designed to support flexible working with different spaces for different activities such as collaboration, brainstorming or just chilling out. You will also be required to work from the office in Bella Vista on occasion. 

What we are looking for:

As a key member of the team, you will lead the E.com Trading of a group of categories in Digital as well as being a member of the Digital Merchandising & New Business Team.  You will deliver an outstanding proposition including; range, promotions and content for our customers, ensuring that we attract and retain customers, while driving sales and margin.

In addition, you will also be responsible for:

  • Accountable for the merchandising and ranging of products to the online store in line with business strategy

  • Accelerating sales and driving basket spend & items per basket

  • Optimise the trading of the site for sales and profit

  • Select the right promotions for digital feature for customers, commercial performance and operational efficiency

  • Work end to end as one team

  • Work horizontally to develop relationships across the supermarket buying organisation to generate understanding, support and excitement for growing Ecom

  • Select the right range for customers, commercial performance and operational efficiency, including Online exclusive products

  • Ensure a deep understanding of competitor activity on range and ensure WOW proposition is in line with customer needs and requirements

  • Work with the Content team to:

    • Review and analyse taxonomy to maintain the agreed customer decision tree while maximising use of all available selling opportunities

    • Traffic mapping, tracking and amendments made to enhance customer experience and maximise sales opportunity

    • Work with content team to enrich content within the online store to enhance the customer shopping experience and eliminate any purchasing barriers.

    • Find new ways to deliver or create content that drives online sales and improve the customer experience

You must have:

  • 6+ years business experience

  • Passion for online

  • FMCG / retail category trading management experience

  • Proven track record of consistent delivery against trading KPIs

  • Team and people development & leadership experience

  • Cross functional experience

  • End to end ownership of P&L

  • Good understanding of retail operations and supply chain

  • Track record of managing and delivering change as well as results

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, establish and maintain strong relationships with senior management & wider business

  • Strong written and oral skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high performing teams

  • Leadership capabilities and the ability to work well in a pressured situation

It would be nice if you had:

  • Business degree/qualification;

  • Retail experience is an advantage

  • Digital trading experience is an advantage
