Team Overview

This position is in the Desktop Services team, which is within the IT Services Branch. The team is responsible for the delivery of desktop support services to staff in National, State and regional locations. The team also provides a premier support service to Ministerial staff and client agencies.

 

Position Overview

This position is located in the Canberra office. The role is responsible for the provision of desktop hardware and software support to the department and supported client agencies. This includes providing assistance on technical and operational standards, management and resolution of jobs, supporting desktop and mobile devices, supporting staff relocations and providing responsive services to ministerial and senior executive staff.

 

To be a contender for this position you should:

  • Have a high level of technical knowledge and experience in the delivery and support of IT functions in a customer focussed environment.
  • Have relevant study, qualifications and/or technical knowledge, experience and capabilities in the delivery of IT desktop services.
  • Be forward thinking and have innovative approaches to work and an
  • excellent work ethic.
  • Have capacity to develop and maintain internal and external client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Possess high level oral, written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Have strong time management and prioritisation skills and a demonstrated commitment to innovation, on the job learning, skill and knowledge sharing, and better ways of working.
  • Be able to travel to remote and regional sites and work additional or flexible hours, sometimes at short notice.

 

This is a designated security assessed position.  The successful applicant is required to obtain and maintain a security assessment at the Negative Vetting 1 level.
