Reporting to the IT Technical Services Manager you will be pivotal in delivering IT services to our organisation. You will be highly motivated to succeed, have a genuine sense of urgency in delivering business value/benefits through service delivery and have a passion for great customer service.

You will have an opportunity to work in a long term permanent role where you will be an integral part of our company success.

Responsibilities

  • Execute project work such as new system implementations, migrations and upgrades of IT hardware and software.
  • Assess dependencies, interoperability, compute, security and user requirements for new server-hosted applications and undertake installation, configuration and documentation of such applications.
  • Establish and maintain a standard and stable VMWare and Microsoft Server environment.
  • Provide input into strategies, standards, policies and future planning.
  • Understand and implement best practice security standards across operating systems and applications to ensure systems are secured from unauthorized access.
  • Undertake capacity planning, understand system lifecycles and advise migration/upgrade options including capital requirements.
  • Participate in ITIL processes such as incident, problem and change management.
  • Mentor other team members to build internal skills and share knowledge.
  • Foster healthy relationships with business and IT staff to ensure success of our projects.
  • Provide leadership in the resolution of major and high severity incidents.
  • Undertake rostered on-call after hours support for critical/urgent requests.

Skills / Experience / Qualifications Required

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role.
  • Microsoft and VMWare qualifications desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft back office products, particularly Server, Exchange, SQL, Active Directory, WSUS, etc. SCCM not required, but desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, implementation, management, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Servers and associated technologies including VMWare virtualisation and Group Policy.
  • Experience with x86 server infrastructure including data centre implementations (HPE, IBM).
  • Experience with email gateways, web filters and anti-virus/anti-malware systems and associated security software (Sophos).
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management / Enterprise Mobility Management solutions (MobileIron and/or VMWare AirWatch).
  • Understanding and experience with Microsoft PKI services including X.509 certificate authentication, Single Sign-On protocols and technologies (SAML, ADFS, etc).
  • Understanding and experience with Network Load Balancers or Application Delivery Controllers (F5 BIG-IP/Citrix Netscaler ADC).
  • Understanding and experience with backup technologies (Veeam Enterprise) and disaster recovery methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as Powershell, VBScript, etc.
  • Solid experience in writing policies and procedures and other support documentation.
