Hogan Software Engineer

• Contribute to the delivery of Suncorp Group, Banking & Wealth strategy.
• Design and build integration solutions for specific business problems.
• 12 month Fixed term contract.

The Role:

Banking & Wealth Technology delivers and drives key components of the Technology, Data and Lab’s strategy to support Suncorp’s vision of creating a customer marketplace where customers can access our full range of products, services and tools.

The role of the Software Engineer is to contribute to the delivery of Suncorp Group, Banking & Wealth strategy, contributing to a program of work focused on Operational Banking Systems across Lending, Platform and support systems.  You will be working in cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, providing systems analysis, design, development, maintenance & ongoing support for Banking & Wealth applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build integration solutions for specific business problems or project requirements.
• Act in the role of Subject Matter Expert, Analyst or Developer as required.
• Design the component of a solution covering a technical or application domain as a member of a team of developers for a project involving multiple domains.   
• Provide input to or develop business systems solutions, estimates and specifications.
• Assist with investigations into potential solutions, liaise with relevant technical experts and contribute to solution design and costing.
• Provide timely and effective advice on progress and ability to meet service and solution deliverables within agreed expectations.
• Produce thorough and effective unit and system test plans and participate and/or support further testing phases.

Skills & Experience :

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology and/or Business or equivalent industry experience.
• At least five (5) years appropriate industry experience.
• Broad and proven experience working on the Hogan Banking platform, with at least five years’ experience including:
  • Desirable ILP, PAS and CIS modules.
  • Other Hogan application experience (e.g. ODS, CAMS, IDS) will be taken into consideration.
  • Mainframe z/OS COBOL, VSAM, DB2, JCL, TSO/MVS, CICS and Assembler
• Experience developing or supporting high availability production systems.
• Experience in IT in a large organisation within the Financial Services industry.
• Customer focus: skilled ability to interpret and analyse customer requirements; influence design solutions in-line with Technology strategy; utilise established internal and external networks to promote innovative solutions for customers.
