Apply now for an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure and Security Team as a technical expert.
Our ideal candidate will excel in all aspects of the support, service delivery and proactive maintenance of key operating systems, supporting platform, and virtualisation environments which host business critical applications. In this role you will join a team responsible for supporting enterprise scale infrastructure on one of Australia’s largest defence projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical consultancy to achieve effective implementation of server hardware and system software including virtualised infrastructures
• Ensure the provisioning, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance testing of server environments including virtualisation infrastructure
• Contribute towards maximising the availability of systems and to minimise the impact of component failures
• Maintain a service approach towards systems infrastructure
• Participate in a 2nd line incident response capability for infrastructure system operational issues. Establish strong processes in line with industry standards
• As directed, liaise with project and technical teams to facilitate the delivery of infrastructure solutions
• Keep abreast of industry developments and best practice in areas of responsibility and system integrity
• Ensure compliance to corporate change control, DoD standard security procedures and methodologies
• Ensure all system documentation complies with all relevant IT Standards

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of server operating systems; Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Server along with Microsoft Active Directory
• Proven experience in the support of server operating systems, and Active Directory along with strong understanding of virtualisation technologies such as VMware
• Experience working in a defence environment adhering to DoD security and global EXIM standards is favourable
• Excellent written and verbal skills with demonstrated experience in writing policies and procedures, technical design documentation and other support documentation
• Relevant degree in IT or industry standard accreditations such as Microsoft MCSE and VMware certified. Security related certifications such as CEH or CISSP and experience working in a multi-tenanted IT environment is also favourable
• Applicants must able to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to Negative Vetting 2 level
