Having established a globally recognised and widely used product on the foundation of clean, simple, elegant and scalable code, this truly innovative software house and Australian success story is looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer to join their growing Product Engineering team in Sydney.
The opportunity will see you team up with some of the region's most talented Software Engineers and a globally recognised (and well-travelled Engineering Manager) in a development environment architected from day 1 to scale.
While the current languages of choice are Java (BE) and raw JavaScript (FE), the team fully appreciates that true engineering genius is not limited to one platform and/or language. The team currently consists of engineers with a combination core, web, mobile and functional programming skills across a host of platforms and products.
The role will see you build a unique highly scalable platform using a Java Spring MVC backend distributed via AWS running SQS to talk to a number of large Mongo, Cassandra and MySQL databases in a highly microservice'd environment.
If you have a combination of the following skills and experience we would love to hear from you:
- Significant core Java programming skills
- A deep understanding and experience working with distributed system development and software design principles
- Experience building efficient, scalable, decoupled, testable and maintainable code
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Experience working in a dynamic microservices environment
- Experience with Heroku
- Experience with Docker
- Excellent problem solving skills and a creative analytic mind.
