Soma Information Technology was founded in 2004 and we're recognised as one of the most reliable and stable companies in our industry.

We have a wealth of knowledge in the areas of Information and Communications Technology, and are currently seeking another experienced IT Service Desk Technician to join our successful Broadbeach team.

In this role you will provide Service Desk support by analysing requirements and resolving problems in a busy Managed Services environment. You will be responsible for the administration and support of PC’s, printers, servers, networks and other related hardware and software.

Tasks include:

  • 1st and 2nd Level support
  • Remote and onsite support for local and national businesses
  • Maintaining client server and network infrastructure
  • PC setup, installation, maintenance, upgrades and configurations
  • Support and troubleshooting of software applications
  • Effectively utilise and maintain your Service Desk tracking and ticketing accounts
  • Creating procedures and keeping documentation up to date
Required Skills:
  • Min 3 yrs proven experience as an IT Service Desk Engineer
  • A well organised and professional manner with a focus on customer service
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management skills
  • Patience with dealing with novice users
  • Solid troubleshooting ability with Windows Desktop operating systems (7 to Win 10)
  • Experience supporting Windows Server operating systems (SBS and R2) including Exchange and AD
  • A solid understanding of network infrastructure (routers, wireless networks) and technologies (ADSL, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, POP3)
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience in a busy managed service environment is an advantage
  • Diploma / Degree / MCSA certification is desirable
  • VMWare knowledge and application
  • Office 365 administration
