THE OPPORTUNITY

NTT ICT have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and driven Solutions Architect to join our growing NSW Presales team. Reporting directly to the NSW Presales manager, you will be instrumental in supporting our Sales team with continued growth with your technical consulting abilities.

As a Solutions Architect you will meet with our customers to design and pitch solutions that address their business requirements, as well as ensure that these solutions are deliverable by NTT ICT, and work with key stakeholders in the business to ensure a satisfactory handover!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will need to be a motivated self starter to be able to take ownership of the following:

  • Gathering and shaping business, functional and technical requirements, through consultation with client stakeholders
  • Facilitating client whiteboard sessions to collaborate and build trust
  • Designing standard as well as complex solutions that meet client needs
  • Conducting gap analyses of architecture against desired future state, and creating transition strategies
  • Developing technical proposals including solution description, diagrams and pricing
  • Writing succinct RFx responses
  • Presenting solutions for internal stakeholder review and approval, and providing clarification where requested
  • Preparing and delivering customer presentations to explain the technical solution and providing explanation and clarification where requested
  • Ensuring appropriate documentation is completed and satisfactory handovers occur to implementation teams
  • Maintaining a competitive and appropriate level of technical and professional competence
  • Achieving and maintaining pre-sales certifications within the relevant technology areas with NTT ICT's support
  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of NTT ICT's product offering
  • Working alongside our Product team to develop new products & services and provide feedback to improve current products & services
  • Managing relationships across the business including: SMEs, Service Delivery, Engineering, Project Management and Sales, together with vendors and partners.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO EXCEL

To excel in this role you will need to hold a relevant Engineering or IT degree and possess the following skills and experiences:

Key Skills:

  • Strong analytical and technical skills

Technical Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of various cloud architectures; hardware and software layers; hybrid models; orchestration; migration strategies; industry players; benefits
  • Experience designing Azure public cloud solutions
  • Strong knowledge of managed services: database, server, storage and backup
  • Experience designing private cloud solutions using Oracle is an advantage
  • Business continuity design experience (eg RPO/RTO design)
  • Experience building complex solutions that include technologies such as:
    • x86 and blade server platforms (Dell, Oracle, HP)
    • Virtualization technology (VMware, OVM)
    • Cross-vendor networking (routing, switching, VPN, load balancing, security & firewalls – Cisco, Juniper, F5)
    • Operating Systems (MS, RHEL, OEL, clustering, AD/LDAP)
    • Database (Oracle, Microsoft SQL)
    • Storage technologies and systems (NAS/SAN, performance, replication)
    • Backup and data protection (Veeam, Commvault)
    • Access control and user authentication solutions

Commercial Skills:

  • Ability to pitch a technical vision to a non-technical client
  • Good working knowledge of the sales cycle
  • Good understanding of basic financial constructs such as pricing, amortisation, contingency
  • Working knowledge of TCO, ROI pricing models
  • Knowledge of risk and associated mitigation approaches

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of network and security solutions
  • Knowledge of modern application stacks (eg Microsoft, Oracle, SAP)
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud Platforms (eg AWS, MS Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies (eg containerisation, micro services)

Essential Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in the cloud, hosting or managed services industry, with a minimum of 3 years presales experience
  • Cloud / data centre implementation experience
