About the Role

Reporting to the ICT Networks Manager for Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, (NBMLHD) an exciting opportunity to work in a team of professionals looking at redesign, development and implementation of new network solutions for NBMLHD. With a full network refresh in progress, along with the recently announced redevelopment of Nepean Hospital, opportunities for the right person exist to implement new network technology for NBMLHD. You must be highly motivated with the ability to take on tasks to a high level and resolve in a timely matter. You will need to be technically minded and have the ability to think outside the square. This is currently a two year project position for the implementation of network hardware across the whole LHD.  This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing, new ICT team who strive to offer and support the latest in IP communication technologies.

Selection criteria to be addressed:

  1. Proven experience working with networking equipment, technologies and topologies, including but not limited to: LAN’s, WANS’s, Wi-Fi, Switching and Routing along with a proven understanding of Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, TCP, IP, etc.), Networking Services DNS, DHCP and Network Access Control .
  2. Proven ability to manage small to medium IT projects from start to finish along with demonstrated experience in planning and executing infrastructure changes
  3. Experience configuring and troubleshooting a variety of networking equipment including but not limited to HP / Aruba, Routers, Switches and other network appliances
  4. Strong proven ability with the racking, testing and commissioning of enterprise networking equipment in production environments
  5. Demonstrated the ability to work unsupervised within a critical 24/7 production data network while applying appropriate controls to ensure no unplanned service outages occur during planned works
  6. Demonstrated a good understanding of cabling standards and structured cabling systems that provide comprehensive telecommunications infrastructure supporting both data and voice services
  7. Demonstrated a good understanding of industry standard networking tools to test fixed cabling and fibre infrastructure, patch panels and networking interfaces
  8. Demonstrated the ability to communicate clearly to customers and peers
