Job tasks and responsibilities
As a technical leading role, you will be expected to manage the field operations (Installation and Services) as well as provide technical support to the clients. In addition, this role will give the applicant the chance to expand their technical knowledge and skills by learning the systems which manage and control the physical security systems (CCTV, Alarm, Access Control, Monitoring).
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage a small team of technicians
- Security system commissioning, management and support
- Programming of new sites/systems
- Ongoing management (updates, changes)
- Scheduling and coordinating with on-site technicians
- Quality checks on system programming
- Final system hand over and provide training to client
- Project design and support
- Assist with designing IP solutions and solution scoping
- Assist sales with technical requirements
- Support
- Assisting clients with installation of software and apps
- Coordinating with client IT departments to facilitate network integration.
- In-house support for staff and technicians
On a day-to-day basis, your responsibilities will be focused on the security systems provisioning, programming, and management.
As a security company, it is expected that candidates will accept that being contacted after-hours.
Skills and experience
Applicants must be proficient with the following to facilitate the IT management side of the role:
- Windows Server environments including Active Directory.
- VMWare ESXi
- IP Networking, VLANs, Routing
- Office 365
Knowledge of the following is desirable:
- FortiNet OS/FortiGate Platform
- CradlePoint
Knowledge of the following is specific to this position, and candidates with experience will be highly considered:
- CCTV systems (specially IP technology)
- Power-over-Ethernet technology
- Alarm Systems
- Access Control Systems
General skills and experience:
- Be self-driven, motivated and able to work autonomously.
- Be detail-oriented, thorough, and take pride in your work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be a fast learner (and eager to do so) when it comes to new technologies, software, hardware and platforms.
- Identify systems and processes with may need improvement as required and formulate a plan to management.
- Be able to translate technical speak into client-centric speak.
- Follow up on important issues and service matters.
- Be able to use service management/ticket systems effectively.
- Be able to configure routers and IP networks with ease.
Certifications/Recognition
- A valid Victorian Security Individual Registration (Security Adviser and Security Equipment Installer Licence) and driver licence are mandatory.
