About the role

The Information Technology (IT) group supports all four companies plus the Xenith IP corporate group across ten sites nationally.

We are recruiting an IT Systems Administrator and Helpdesk Team Lead to be based at our North Sydney office with occasional work and meetings at our Sydney CBD office. This is an extremely interesting time to join the team as we undertake transformation projects to implement more common infrastructure and collaboration tools.

This role will report to the IT Manager and have the following key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Group's Helpdesk function to ensure all companies receive a high level of support. This includes managing and developing a team of three staff and ensuring all helpdesk requests are resolved in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Provide various business technology requirements including procurement, meeting setups, machine builds, user access requests, security controls, user and application support, mobility and unified communications (Skype for Business);
  • Provide Systems Administration including but not limited to; user provisioning and decommissioning, server room monitoring, cloud systems administration, printing, video conferencing, backups and infrastructure monitoring;
  • Ensure application access and availability on platforms such as VMWare, Riverbed, Citrix, Office 365, Skype for Business, RSA, Microsoft InTune/SCCM, Applocker, ADFS/ADCS, Windows 8.1/10, Office 2016, InMailX, Inprotech, Microsoft SQL, Veeam, Sharefile, iManage Filesite, Bitdefender, Bitlocker, Mimecast, DFS, Direct Access, PaloAlto Firewalls, Dell Laptops, Azure AD, AWS;
  • Provide relevant documentation, diagrams and reports to the IT team and management;
  • Implement infrastructure installations, upgrades and development projects as required by the Infrastructure Manager;
  •  Involvement in project work as required; and 
  • Continuously seek opportunities for the IT group to improve the user experience and achieve operational excellence.

Skills and experience

What experience and skills are we looking for?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology (degree) or the completion of specialist systems courses in related discipline. Current IT certifications highly regarded; 
  • 3+ years' experience working in similar operational environments (WAN spanning multiple locations, 250+ desktops, 100+ Servers);
  • Knowledge and experience of cloud (Office 365), server technologies (Active Directory services, DNS, DHCP), communication systems (VoIP telephony, video conferencing, mobility) and networking infrastructure;
  • Experience managing a small team will be highly regarded;
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and management skills;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. You must be able to clearly articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical users and to write well-structured, accurate and concise documents and reports; and 
  • Proven ability to work in an environment with competing priorities whilst remaining calm under pressure.
