Onyx are a niche provider of specialist services and software solutions to the energy industry. Our team are highly skilled experts in market systems, control systems and enterprise IT software and have been solving energy clients' complex power problems for more than 20 years.
Onyx is a young business, formed four years ago out of the genuine desire to help our clients face the modern-day challenge of "doing more for less". The team are passionate about what they do and we pride ourselves in delivering measurable value and excellent service to our clients.
Our business is growing and we are looking for candidates who have the following skills or experience:
- Expert in J2EE and web related technologies, including Java (preferably Java 8), JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, XML, SVG and CSS.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular (2+ is preferred) and D3.
- Experience with relational databases, such as Oracle, SQL Server or Postgres.
- All candidates must already have the right to work in Australia, either through citizenship or by possessing a valid work visa.
Experience with any of the following technologies is highly desirable:
- Experience with contemporary Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with DevOps, automated software builds and deployments.
- Experience with database migration tools and techniques.
- Experience supporting and maintaining production mission-critical systems.
- Experience working with working with Linear Programming (LP) or Quadratic Programming (QP) based solver engines.
- Experience developing, enhancing or supporting bespoke market pricing, scheduling and dispatch engines for electricity market operators or market participants in Australia and abroad.
- Experience developing, enhancing or supporting bespoke energy applications, trading and settlement systems for electricity market operators or market participants in Australia and abroad.
