Harvey Nash are working with a well-known Australian company to recruit a Data Scientist to join their organisation on a permanent basis.  You’ll be joining a new team of Data Scientists to embark on the company’s journey to mature their data function and offer better business insights. 
  
The role and responsibilities:

• Understand and articulate business problems and size analytical opportunities into manageable steps that can be implemented iteratively.
• Collaborate with business and technology departments to develop working solutions
• Leverage existing data and new data from IoT to develop insights for the business
• Applying machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques to build data products
• Continuous learning and sharing of how data science can add value to business
• Contribute to overall IT and data strategy

You, as the ideal candidate, will have:

• PhD in Machine Learning or a related quantitative discipline (with a background in any of the following: science, engineering, manufacturing, robotics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, statistics and operational research). 
• 3+ years of relevant work experience as a Data Scientist creating measurable business value through data science
• Experience in working with senior stakeholders to drive change and solve ambiguous business problems
• Ability to quickly iterate the analysis and solution, taking projects from concept to production
• Experience in working with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• The ability to create and effectively communicate findings to management as to how your insights create business impact
