The Current Opportunity

The Network Engineer - Provisioning is responsible for the deployment and provision of customer network solutions. This focuses on the design, configuration, deployment, and testing of network, voice and security related solutions sold to our customers. The Network Engineer is also responsible for the adequately and timely transition of services to our Service Delivery team post deployment.

As a Network Engineer - Provisioning, you will

  • Provide technical expertise to assist the provisioning and deployment of customer network, voice and security related services;
  • Perform assigned project tasks within defined constraints outlined in project documentation, and as allocated by the project owner;
  • Communicate project updates regularly or as defined in the project plan to key stakeholders and project owners;
  • Escalate issues as per escalation procedures within a timely manner;
  • Liaise with clients, internal colleagues and third party organisations to enable provision of project deliverables;
  • Conduct provisioning of new services including configuration and testing;
  • Provide technical support to our customer base, ensuring all Incidents and Requests are documented in the support tracking system to the expected level;
  • Resolve assigned cases in a timely manner, keeping customers informed and setting expectations until the case is resolved;
  • Plan changes to clients' systems including adequate communication to request approval;
  • Assist in the completion and update of design documentation as required;
  • Conduct peer reviews of dhanges as requested; and
  • Other duties as required or requested.

 

About you

The successful applicant should have 4+ years experience working with networking technologies and network management platforms - including some network design experience. 

You will also possess:

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and hands on experience with Cisco, Juniper, WAN and LAN technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with MPLS networks including xDSL and ethernet.
  • Demonstrated experience with routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, IGRP, and EIGRP.
  • Routing & Switching Certification (CCNP or higher certification).
  • Experience with Cisco Security including ASA.
  • A high level of time management, prioritisation and organisation skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service and client relationship skills, including the ability to build relationships and gain the trust of our clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to tailor language to suit the audience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Desire to learn and continue to develop technical and customer service skills.
  • Successful and timely provisioning of project deliverables.
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.

Desired, but not critical

  • ITIL certification
  • Watchguard experience
