Currently we have an opportunity for an experienced Fibre Technician to join our team in Ferntree Gully. Working within the Telecommunications Division, you will be reporting into the Project Leader covering multiple projects across the state in a business that has a strong pipeline of future work. Your responsibilities will include the installation, testing and commissioning of equipment to current practices, in both network and customer sites.

To be successful in this role you will be trade qualified with a demonstrated level of experience in live network splicing and cutovers combined with a full understanding telecommunications network architecture. You will have a working knowledge of telecommunications standards, codes of practice and general regulations combined with the ability to comply and understand the relevant HSEQ legislation and procedures.

As the successful candidate you will:

• Demonstrate strong organisational and time management skills whilst maintaining records of activity against work packages and tasks.
• Use your previous experience to plan and execute projects within budget and in line with customer requirements.
• Have particularly strong fault-finding skills.
• Demonstrate your knowledge and commitment to Quality Management principles, OH&S and the Environment.
• Hold Austel Open Registration and be experienced in OTDR Testing.
