They will play a key role in the design, implementation, testing, documentation and maintenance of software systems, developing programs and applications to solve complex business issues.
Responsibilities
- Developing high quality applications and programs, using best development practices, that contribute to the unified vision for software characteristics and functions
- Maintain deployed systems and support end-users, resolving issues as required
- Review application design to look for optimisation opportunities
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of applications and actively participate in knowledge sharing and mentoring
- Produce detailed documentation, including solution design and technical specifications, as required
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to ascertain business requirements and identify appropriate project deliverables and outcomes
- Recommend software upgrades for existing programs and systems
- Manage software changes with source and version control
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Confident back-end developer with proficient knowledge and experience in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and similar
- An understanding of document-oriented databases and experience with MS SQL, Java and Unix is highly desirable but not essential
- Exposure to C# .NET, WCF, Apex and source control will be beneficial
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with strong experience troubleshooting and debugging software
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism and confidence in written and verbal communications, internal and external to the department
- Excellent organisational, time and project management skills, performing tasks at the highest standard
- Reliable self-starter with the ability to work in a team and on own initiative
- Takes ownership of delivering optimal outcomes to and on behalf of department
- Passion for optimising business and technology processes
Qualifications
- Have 7 years of technology experience with at least 5 years hands-on technical role
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field or a combination of related experience and education
