An opportunity exists for an experienced application support and training professional to join our dynamic Patent and Trade Mark Attorney firm. In addition to supporting system users via the helpdesk function and documenting our in-house developed applications, you will have a key role in the continuous improvement of our systems and processes working closely with our IP Operations and IT Development teams. This involves contributing towards user engagement, solution design, testing, UAT, change impact analysis and release management. Another aspect of the role will be the entry and maintenance of system settings and the ongoing improvements of all letter and email templates. You will also be required to design and deliver training to partners, attorneys, secretaries and administrative staff on work practices, procedures and the use of our in-house developed systems, as well as MS Office applications.

Skills/Attributes Required:

  • Experience with application support
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technologies and concepts
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with individuals across all levels of an organisation
  • Prior experience  and proven success in designing and delivering IT training
  • Expert User of MS Word with in-depth knowledge of mail merge, track changes and line numbering
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook with an understanding of databases
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and critical thinking skills
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent industry experience

Other skills that would be highly regarded:

  • SQL
  • Knowledge of Patent & Trademark systems
  • Report writing experience
