In recent times Lockheed Martin Australia has either won contracts or is exploring opportunities with the Australian Government across such areas as battlespace management, training and simulation, and complex integration programs. To this point there are new opportunities for an experienced Senior Program Manager to join the LMA Program Management Team.
We are seeking candidates who have demonstrated experience in effective leadership and management of program activities from inception through to completion, including accountability for cost, schedule and technical performance of company program(s) or subsystems of major programs.

This opportunity is located in Canberra, ACT.

Your responsibilities will include (not limited to):
  • Develop program artefacts, including but not limited to work breakdown structure(s), schedule(s), resource profile(s), and program management plan(s)
  • Actively manage the program to deliver immediate and long-term goals to realise desired program
  • outcomes
  • Provide direction to the program team and ensure milestones, products and services are of the highest quality, satisfying cost, schedule, regulatory compliance and program requirements
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the customer and the business for all program activities, leading program reviews in the discussion of cost, schedule and technical performance
  • Continuously drive improvement and excellence within the program community
  • Define strategies to achieve program goals and establish program plans consistent with the defined LM Program Performance Management process
  • Drive and embed a risk management culture to maximise the potential for successful program execution through promoting proactive risk, opportunity and issue identification, monitoring and mitigation/capture, and ensuring teams are well-versed in these areas
  • Support the pursuit of future business opportunities associated with the program or customer domain
You will have skills and experience in:
  • Extensive experience with training and/or simulation programs
  • Extensive experience in a similar role managing significantly complex, large-scale programs
  • Extensive experience in negotiation and resolution of significantly complex issues to achieve a positive, commercially focused outcome
  • Extensive experience in leading, managing and motivating teams
  • Professional experience working within an IT or project environment
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently produce successful results in a significantly complex or high-risk environment
  • Utilisation of a range of Project Management tools and methodologies with a high degree of competence, including experience developing new program plans and delivery methods
  • Demonstrated experience with Prince2 or PMBOK project management methodology
  • Demonstrated experience with Open Plan Professional and/or Microsoft Project
  • Working knowledge of AS04817 (Earned Value Management)
