This is a hands on role to join the team that configures and deploys the applications and deliver support to both external and internal facing customers. Your Duties and Responsibilities:
External customer support
- Deliver a first-class customer experience
- Actively participate in customer success team
- Create, manage and track customer support requests
- Effectively communicate with clients
- Assist initial customer software installations and configuration
- Order, configure and ship hardware for customer installations
- In time, you should be able to:
- Install configure and test OFS software on client servers or VM’s
- Diagnose and resolve client faults
- Develop customer facing documentation
- Backup configuration
- OFS API support
- Integrate communications gateways (e.g email, SMS) with OFS
- Manage remote access
- Basic DBA tasks
- Web server tuning
- Install critical security patches
- Develop custom applets
- Design customer compliance processes
Internal IT Support
- Maintain system infrastructure and troubleshoot issues as required
- Perform daily checklists and maintenance tasks
- Build, deploy & implement solutions
- Improve processes to reduce repetition of frequent tasks
- Network maintenance and security
- Backups
Ideally, the Experience and Technical Skills you should have
- 2-3 years commercial experience in an IT support role or
- Less experience with an IT or software plus Engineering double degree would be considered
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with Linux varieties, particularly Ubuntu
- Scripting ability - BASH / standard Linux tools
- Experience with LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP)
- Understanding of Java application container management.
- Knowledge of networks, security and VPN configuration
- Ability to manage backup & data recovery
