Nine is seeking an experienced NodeJS Developer to join our Single Sign-on (SSO) Development team. You will have the opportunity to showcase your Node.JS, JavaScript and dev-ops skills working as part of a tight knit team.
  
You will be responsible for maintaining and developing Nine’s Single Sign-on service which powers Nine’s catch-up service 9Now and has integrations across Nine’s digital publishing network.
  
SSO is a set of microservices that utilises several AWS products and with over six million users the SSO service has to be reliable, fast and scalable. In this role you’ll be putting scalable architecture patterns and smart coding techniques into practice for one of Nine’s most critical systems.
  
As a technology team we are always looking to use the best tool for the job, contribute to open source and share our findings on our tech blog.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to business requirements.
• Coach and provide technical mentoring to other developers within the team.
• Monitor team productivity and act as a technology evangelist when required to initiate change within the team.
• Research and evaluate alternative technology solutions.
• Communicate and enforce coding standards.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Where required follows NEC company policies and procedures.
• Support and participate in a safe workplace culture.

Essential experience & skills

• Extensive experience with Node.js and JavaScript.
• Deep understanding and experience with AWS cloud-based environments.
• A Demonstrated positive, clear and professional communication style.
• Ability to participate in and support a team environment and share information in a positive way.

Desirable experience & skills

• Experience with Git and/or CI.
• Experience in Unit & Integration Testing.
• An understanding of Agile methodology.
