The Client:

My client is NSW Government department who are based in the heart of the Parramatta CBD. They are currently in the process of refreshing and upgrading their SQL databases.

The Role:

This role will report directly into an accomplished Project Manager on an initial 11 month contract.

• Responsible for refresh of SQL Server databases and associated database management processes
• Responsible for the migration of applications and data from legacy SQL servers and operating systems
• Liaise with technology support and applications teams to coordinate relevant migrations
• Document and present technical solutions and change requests
• Implement technical solutions relating to the refresh of servers, storage or operating systems
• Evaluate the suitability of Cloud Hosting options for SQL databases\

The Candidate:

• Demonstrated experience with SQL Server technologies on various server platforms
• Hands on experience in migrating databases and data from legacy platforms to new platforms
• Technical knowledge of various versions of Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of Cloud technologies specifically in relation of database hosting
• Demonstrable knowledge of IT-as-a-Service models including Platform-as-a-Service
• Knowledge of storage and networking technologies
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: SQL Server is essential
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Master: SQL Server is highly regarded
