About the opportunity
This position is responsible for the design, build and run of batch and real-time data pipelines, to integrate, transform, and analyse data, using Microsoft technologies. As an all-rounder with data and Microsoft technologies, the Data Engineer may also help transform data into insights through the creation of reports, analytics, and dashboards using Microsoft tools.

The Data Office Team is the custodian of Bupa's enterprise data assets, supporting the business to embed a strong, unified data management platform and enabling the business to work strategically with data to maximise competitive performance. We are working with various teams and projects to build the future state of Bupa’s data platforms on Microsoft Azure services, and to mature and extend our Data Warehouse and Analytics systems on-premise on Oracle and Microsoft products.
You will be/have:-
- A thorough understanding of ETL frameworks and DW/DM processing patterns
- Notable experience with dimensional modelling techniques
- Expert level SQL/TSQL skills
- Solid DML skills with database development/administration exposure
- Substantial ‘enterprise’ experience with SSIS, including implementing complex data pipelines within best practice frameworks, at scale
- Solid experience with SSAS/SSRS and Microsoft BI Tools including Power BI
- A background with Microsoft scripting and programming languages
- Exposure to implementing solutions on-premise and via Azure IAAS and PAAS
- Bonus – Azure related Big Data or Stream Processing experience.
- Bonus – Python, Java, Scala skills
