Based in South Brisbane, this government department are looking for an experienced Technical Support Officer to join their high performing ICT team. General responsibilities will include ensuring the efficient delivery of a sustainable ICT environment and providing professional and responsible services to staff and clients.

General Duties:

  • Develop, configure, deploy and manage the core Managed Operating Environments used within the department, and the underlying support systems and services, to deliver public PC booking and printing services.
  • Administer the Desktop Management service/solution for ICT computing devices, and facilitate preparation and distribution of end user technologies, including computers and telecommunications equipment, utilising a mix of open source and contemporary support and management systems.
  • Provide technical support of the Mac and Windows desktop environment, including monitoring, configuration, image deployment and reporting.
  • Collaborating with the business and other ICT Services team members to deliver technology solutions and perform project work relating to ICT initiatives.
  • Investigating and rectifying reported operational deficiencies.
  • Adhere to ITIL Change Management Principles and change, release and configuration management practices employed by ICT Services.
  • Participate in internal committees, projects and working groups while collaborating with other teams across SLQ.
  • Provide high quality stakeholder engagement.
  • Work effectively with colleagues and peers while contributing to a productive and positive work environment in times of change and uncertainty.

Desirable Skills:

  • ManageEngine Service Desk Plus (or similar ITSM administration skills)
  • SOE/MOE deployment and support
  • Mac, MS Windows and Server
  • Active Directory and Group Policy Management
  • Exchange, Office 2003, 2007, 2010, 365, MS Sharepoint 2010, OS X
  • Troubleshooting and support for smart phones and tablet devices (iOS, Android)
  • Virtualisation/VDI maintenance and support, Citrix and Microsot RDP
