Detail information about job Simulator Technician / Operator. Terms and conditions vacancy
Remember Neil Armstrong’s line, “… one giant leap for mankind?” It was Rockwell Collins technology that carried his words and video 239,000 miles from the moon to Earth. The invention of the GPS system? We played a big part in that, too. Same with the radar technologies that help airlines see ahead of them, and the encrypted communication technologies that help men and women in the military stay safe and connected even in today’s complex battlefield.
Those are just a few examples of how Rockwell Collins has stood for innovation, industry-leading technology and an unwavering dedication to quality, ever since we started as Collins Radio back in 1933.
Rockwell Collins has been operating in Australia since the early 1960s, supporting our customer base through locations in the states of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland, as well as in Auckland, New Zealand. We manufacture and support a wide array of avionics, navigation and communications equipment for defence and commercial applications.
We are seeking suitably qualified Simulator Operator based in Holsworthy Barracks in Sydney and Campbell Barracks in Perth for an initial 12 month contact. The Operator’s primary function is to operate and maintain the simulator systems with a secondary role to provide technical assistance to other Rockwell Collins products.
Typical duties of the Simulator Operator are:
- advising on and developing training scenarios as requested by the unit.
- assisting in planning and executing training scenarios.
- assisting personnel on training courses.
- working autonomously within the client business location as the primary point of contact for simulation services in relation to JFO & JTAC personnel.
The successful candidate would have experience as a Joint Fires Observer (JFO) or Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) or experience training both. Experience in the operation and knowledge of Digital Terminal Control Systems (DTCS) and around 5 years experience in these domains.
This will be an initial 12 month contact with a view to permanent tenure. Due to secure nature of work, applicants must be an Australian Citizen and be able to pass an AFP check with no criminal history. Further Government Security clearance shall be required upon starting and
