Who are we?

CEnet is a not-for-profit, shared IT services organisation supporting Catholic diocesan education networks that connect school communities across NSW, QLD, TAS and the ACT. CEnet comprises a federation of 16 Catholic dioceses.

CEnet supports and manages a secure and robust shared infrastructure that delivers standards-based ICT networking, internet access and the provision of web-based applications and curriculum resources to its members. CEnet’s user population includes over 330,000 Kindergarten to Year 12 students, teachers and administrative staff.

What Is the role?

The Integration Developer role primarily contributes to the design, implementation, administration and support of data integration and application interoperability (integration) for CEnet’s information services, hosted both on-premise and in the cloud.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, document and support the integration of cloud applications and data with new and existing services.

  • Design of new integration methods and solutions to fulfil CEnet service, and member requirements, that are also in line with design and architecture specifications.

  • Understand business requirements and work with business analysts to ensure that integration activities enhance business processes and/or to minimise any negative impact.

  • Liaise with external providers to resolve any issues in the functionality and interoperability of new cloud applications, cloud-based infrastructure, and other cloud services with existing IT systems.

Ideal applicants for this role will possess the following technical skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to create clear and detailed technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with working with various application and data interfaces including, but not limited to, web-services APIs (REST, SOAP, ODATA), JSON, ODBC/JDBC, XML and flat file data structures.

  • Experience with scripting languages for the purposes of automation and interaction with APIs (e.g. Python, Javascript, HTML, CSS etc).

  • Provide customers or internal teams with support on technical integration issues. Assist others in development.

The following technical skills and experience will be highly regarded, but not essential:

  • Familiarisation with contemporary integration platforms and technologies such as Dell Boomi and other relevant open source integration tools.

  • Experience in code versioning systems & techniques (GIT, Github etc).

  • Ability to perform functional requirements analysis and business process analysis.

  • Ability to work closely with key stakeholders on customer-specific initiatives that involve data transformation or integration development.

  • Experience with cloud-based IPaaS platforms including Dell Boomi.

  • Experience in iterative (agile) approaches to development projects, tasks and initiatives.

  • Experience with identity management specific integration and access technologies or concepts.

  • Experience with, or familiarity with the SIF-AU or similar interoperability standard.

This position is a permanent full-time role based in the Illawarra (South Coast, NSW).
