About the School
Bacchus Marsh Grammar is an independent, co-educational primary and secondary school. The School commenced in February 1988 and celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. It has grown from its modest beginnings of just three classrooms, to a school of more than 2,500 pupils from Preparatory to Year 12. The School is opening a new campus in Aintree in 2019 in the Woodlea estate.
The school is well known for its increasingly strong VCE results as it becomes a force in Melbourne's west. The school seeks to develop a culture of achievement, which encourages staff and students to strive toward their personal best.
About the Role
The Database and Systems Administrator will be responsible for the effective management, support and delivery of all School based systems. In partnership with Staff and the ICT Department, and under the direction of the Director of ICT Services, the Database and Systems Administrator will lead the delivery and execution of System-based projects.
With a client focused mentality, the Database and System Administrator role will expand the ICT Department’s ability to aid and improve digital teaching and learning inside and outside of the classroom.
To meet the School’s short and long term Strategy Plan, the Database and System Administrator will collaborate closely with senior leadership and the Administration team to identify and streamline system-based processes and workflows.
Key Selection Criteria
Qualifications/ Licenses
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- A current Working with Children Check
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency
- Appropriate first aid qualifications (HLTAID003 or equivalent)
- A current Police Check
Demonstrated Experience and Skills
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a database administration role
- Demonstrated experience in managing and maintaining Synergetic Management System.
- Working knowledge of database queries, theories and designs
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server;
- Demonstrated ability to write Crystal Reports or SSRS
- Experience with database integration
- Demonstrated experience in working within a Microsoft network environment
- Excellent analytical and problems solving skills
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills, including the ability to draft and edit documentation
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with a range of customers including parent, students, staff and suppliers.
- Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills including the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Desirable Criteria
- Experience within a similar role an educational environment desirable.
- Qualification and/or experience with programing languages such as Java, JavaScript, C# or C++, Python, PHP, or iOS/swift
