The Opportunity
Working as part of the Business Project Services team the Business Analyst will support one of the key projects focussed on regulatory changes in the Energy and Gas market.
This is a 6 month contract opportunity based in Melbourne CBD.
The Role
Working alongside the business to define business requirements. The Business Analyst will liaise with end users, systems analysts and vendors to ensure that the business requirements are fully understood building strong relationships between the business and IT.
The project is being delivered fully waterfall.
Duties include;
- Define the solution boundaries and the scope of the deliverables
- Translation of business need into quality requirements for stakeholders and suppliers
- Accurately document and manage the requirement traceability, version control and risk and issues
- Represent the business throughout the project lifecycle to ensure requirements are met, tested and implemented successfully
- Ensure solutions are sound, fit for purpose, functional and meet project objectives
- Coordinate nominated business representatives in UAT
- Active participation on the continuous improvement of the business analysis methodology
- Identify stakeholders who may be affected by the business need or new solution and understand stakeholder influence on attitude towards initiative
- Maintain regular, professional and service focussed communication providing relevant updates to all project stakeholders
To Be Considered
- Candidates must have experience within utilities sector
- Experience within a regulatory and compliance project would be advantageous
- Demonstrated experience gathering and managing business requirements
- Demonstrated experience business process modelling - ability to use tools as part of requirements gathering
- Ability to write test cases
- Experience in the development of business cases would be advantageous
- Experience working within large and complex programs of work
