UTS: Rapido is a technology development unit in the Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT) whose mission is to drive business performance by unlocking access to world-leading technology and research. UTS Rapido researches, develops and delivers hardware and software prototypes and solutions.

About the Role
As our  Senior Software Engineer you will be primarily responsible for prototyping and developing software which will  enable the creation of prototypes selected for the UTS:Rapido. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing and transferring UTS software technology as required by UTS industry partners.

In this role you will:
• Lead software design and prototyping activities for UTS: Rapido
• Drive internal and external engagement activities with UTS: Rapido
• Provide project management support for projects conducted by UTS: Rapido.

About You
World class expertise in a particular technology domain relevant to the UTS: Rapido such as 3D data processing, data science, UX, cloud SW development, software architecture, computer graphics or other would be highly relevant for the role, as well as a track record of engagement with research teams and industry partners in a R&D context.

You will also bring to the role:
• Wide knowledge of software technologies; for example experience using the following technologies: C, C++, Python, C#, Swift and Objective C
• Experience developing on various platforms including Windows, Linux, IOs
• Demonstrated ability to work with subject matter experts (engineers and academics) to scope and cost projects for external partners
• Demonstrated passion for established and emerging technologies and ability to develop prototypes with both rigid and loose requirements
• tertiary qualifications in information technology and/or recognized industry experience.

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $98,340 to $111,999pa HEW 8

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis to 31st December 2019.
