About the Role 

A great opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer (SOC) to be part of our “state of the art” Security Operations Center.

We are currently looking for multiple SOC Engineers – Senior and Junior, looking to navigate into the world of Cybersecurity. The SOC team is responsible for mitigation and detection of Threats and First Incident Response using the latest Cutting-edge Security tools.

The Cybersecurity Engineer - SOC will operate during business hours and support non-business hours as situation demands and may therefore involve being a member of a 24x7 on-call function.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and tune security alerts from key security tools, through security analytics in Splunk
  • Investigating alerts from tools, provide the first response to alerts (including implementing new detections or mitigations), and be a key contributor to major incidents
  • Curating threat intelligence and responding to threat intelligence sourced alerts
  • Engage and managing security service providers to ensure the stability and availability of security tools, and for monitoring and driving improvements with an intent to ensure continuous availability of security tools
  • Provide specialised third-level support and technical assistance on any major issues and incidents to ensure issues are resolved timely

 

About You

  • Strong knowledge and significant systems engineering experience with IT platforms and Operating Systems: Windows, UNIX/Linux and Monitoring tool – SPLUNK
  • Programming/scripting skills viewed as an advantage: Python/PowerShell
  • Experience in working in a matrix organization and the ability to manage numerous stakeholders.
  • While experience working in a SOC at tier two or three is preferable, AGL would consider people with a strong technical IT background who are considering a career change.
