Webjet Limited is a digital travel business spanning both global consumer markets (through B2C) and wholesale markets (through B2B). As Australia and New Zealand's leading online travel agency, Webjet leads the way in online travel tools and technology.  Webjet enables customers to compare, combine and book the best domestic and international travel flight deals, hotel accommodation, holiday package deals, travel insurance and car hire worldwide.

We operate a sophisticated IT platform deployed in hybrid Azure cloud environment and are currently engaged in a series of substantial ongoing development projects.

Globally, Webjet is the world's second largest online hotel wholesaler. Our B2B travel business provides a simplified B2B solution that aims to offer the widest range of hotel inventory at the lowest prices.

About the role

Webjet strives to be at the leading edge of technology, developing solutions to meet the travel needs of our customers. We have evolved out architecture into cloud native microservices hosted on Azure.

Our product focused delivery teams that are self-contained and have end to end ownership of their product. You build it you ship, is core to the Webjet way. You will be working in a small self-managed team consisting of Data Professionals, Developers, Data Analysts and Business Analysts, as well other people from across the business.

We don't expect you to just read the requirements and code, but rather understand the business and customer drivers for the feature you and your team have been asked to build. You will be empowered to challenge the status quo and come up with innovative solutions.

Skills and experience

• Agile: Commercial experience in an agile environment.
• Strong experience using at least one of the following programme languages -  .Net, Java, Go, Python but more importantly a strong desire to learn and develop in more than one
• Simple solution to complex problems: Writing testable, effective and communicative code
• Growth mindset: You're curious and passionate about your work and enjoy learning new things
• Not just a coder: You're interested in the overall business context and creating great user experiences
• Experience in Docker, and Docker orchestration systems (K8S, DC/OS, etc)
• Experience in cloud technologies Azure, AWS, or Google
• Strong communication skills
