Role summary
We are currently partnering with a leading telco based in the CBD. Due to the on-going growth – they require a Business Project Manager to join for an initial 6 month assignment. The Business Manager role will be partnering with General Managers to assist with business acumen in areas such as setting business plan, discuss RTI on tech ideas, finance, workforce planning and then governance (weekly), reporting. It is a strategic role, no direct reports, need someone to be able to roll up sleeves, stakeholder management skills are a must. telco advantage.
Reporting to the a senior Manager, Business Operations, the role of Business Manager is accountable to ensure successful and aligned Business management frameworks are in place across Network Engineering. This includes the implementation of forward planning, governance and reporting processes that ensure compliance to BM & PMO standards and requirements and enable effective, efficient delivery Network Engineering’s business objectives. This approach will drive transparency, consistency and success across all Network Engineering teams.
Responsibilities
This role will be embedded within Network Engineering, directly responsible for working closely with the BM & PMO team as well as other Network Engineering departments on the day-to-day business deliverables covering:
- Business planning,
- Governance,
- Financial and resource management,
- Business and program reporting,
- Risk management,
- Communications, serving as the key focal point for all related business management inputs/outputs.
Essential skills
- Proven and strong experience in business operations management
- Extensive knowledge and experience in E2E project/program management on a related large and complex project/program of work with a preference in the telecommunications industry.
- Experience in a people leader role
- Undergraduate qualifications in IT, Engineering or similar technical discipline
- Broad experience in large organisations managing various components of the value chain
- Experience with working in collaborative environments with self-managing teams
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary program teams
- The ability to interact at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to work autonomously, is self-motivated/self-initiating of improvement initiatives
- A proven track record of advising in business issues and generating successful solutions
