About the Role

We are seeking a Lead Delivery Engineer for our major telco's client to lead multiple delivery teams. Based on our client’s site in Sydney CBD you’ll be joining a broader Service Team reporting to the Software Engineering Manager. You will have a strong background in the specific application platform(s) supported by the Delivery Team, devops engineering practises and people leadership skills to support a small team of software engineers. 
 

Duties:

• HR management of engineering members within the Delivery Team
• Establishment and monitoring of software engineering practises within the Delivery Team in reference to enterprise standards and guidelines 
• Ensure the technical quality of the delivered software
• Promote and deliver engineering/devops metrics to enable objective measurement and continuous improvement of engineering practises
• Technical lead for the delivery team – point of technical escalation and management of technical risks and issues
• Support role in the identification of non-functional changes (in collaboration with the service team solution architects and platform based system teams)
• Participation in work estimation and planning
• Perform design, development, test activities as part of the Delivery Team

 
Skills & Experience

• To be successful in this role you will need to meet the following requirements: 
  
• Significant experience in software engineering, platform engineering, middleware or database technology 
• Experience of technology leadership experience building customer facing products/platforms
• Experience with the specific platform technologies under development  X 
• Proven experience in delivering digital projects and products 
• Proven experience in development within an agile framework 
• Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity 
• Experience in with a successful track record in a core Agility role such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, Release Train Engineer, Value Stream Engineer   
• Exposure to working in a large and complex organisation and working with senior stakeholders and understanding their viewpoints
