About the role

Reporting to our Customer Services Group Manager, you will be involved in the remote support of our industry leading products in areas including Point of Sale, Retail, Inventory, Back Office, B2B, B2C, HR & Payroll. This is an interesting and varied role and will extend to the support of hosted platforms and client hardware infrastructure. Our well-appointed offices are located in the Southern Bayside area of Melbourne near Southland Shopping Centre. We are looking for someone wishing to work in a professional and multi-skilled, dynamic team environment. The Application Technical Support Specialist's key duties will include:

  • Provide remote technical support of our software solutions to our customer base.
  • Provide business support and help with the use of our products.
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve other software and hardware faults.
  • Follow the management of the case through to a resolution. This includes problem analysis, potential problem analysis, identification, classification, resolution and escalation where necessary.
  • Determine the most effective manner to solve or escalate cases within prescribed Service Level Agreements and Megabus help desk procedures and policies.

Required skills & experience

We require a highly motivated IT Help Desk support professional with outstanding presentation and customer service support skills. Due to the nature of our solutions, the candidate with proven finance/bookkeeping experience will be highly regarded; other sought after skills and experience include:

Essential

  • A proven understanding of basic business transactions, for example, previous exposure to a Retail or Point of Sale (POS) environment.
  • A demonstrated ability to express IT proficiency and aptitude.
  • Proven extensive written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comprehensive attention to detail.
  • A demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • A proven willingness to take ownership of problems and follow through to resolution.
  • Proof of ability to participate in a team and a strong desire to learn.
  • An appropriate attitude for professional growth and long-term involvement in the IT industry.

Highly regarded

  • Financial bookkeeping experience
  • Hands on experience providing 1st level support in a Microsoft environment.
  • Experience supporting business applications.
  • Experience supporting MS Operating systems and the MS office suite of products.
  • Experience in remote diagnosis and resolution of software, hardware and network problems.
  • Experience in providing training to individuals or groups would be a bonus but is not essential.
  • Good practical understanding of PC technology, Microsoft Windows, general networking, databases, ADSL routers and hardware diagnostics
